Electroless Nickel (High Phosphate)

高磷化学镀镍

Electroless nickel (high phosphorus) plating in Singapore — corrosion-resistant uniform nickel coating by Active Treatment Pte Ltd

High-phosphorus EN for exceptional corrosion resistance in aggressive chemical environments.

High-Phosphorus Electroless Nickel (10–13% P) is the most corrosion-resistant grade of EN coating, offering near-amorphous microstructure with outstanding performance in acidic, alkaline, and saline environments. It is the material of choice for oil and gas downhole components, chemical processing equipment, and marine applications.

Active Treatment's high-P EN line achieves deposits with phosphorus content of 10–13%, providing 1,000+ hours of salt spray resistance without passivation and excellent resistance to chemical attack. The coating is also non-magnetic, making it suitable for sensitive electronic assemblies.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I choose high-P over medium-P EN?

Choose high-P (10–13% P) when corrosion resistance is the primary requirement — particularly in chemical processing, marine, or oil & gas environments. Choose medium-P (6–9% P) when wear resistance or hardness is the priority.

Is high-P EN non-magnetic?

Yes. High-phosphorus EN has a near-amorphous structure with magnetic permeability very close to 1, making it non-magnetic. This is important for components in MRI equipment or sensitive electronic assemblies.

Can high-P EN be heat treated to increase hardness?

Heat treatment at 350–400°C will increase hardness to ~HV 900 but reduces corrosion resistance. For applications requiring both maximum hardness and maximum corrosion resistance, we recommend plating at the required thickness without heat treatment.

What environments is high-P EN most resistant to?

High-P EN resists dilute acids (HCl, H2SO4), alkaline solutions, salt water, and many organic solvents. It is not suitable for oxidising acids (concentrated HNO3) or concentrated alkalis. We can advise based on your specific chemical environment.

Does high-P EN affect part dimensions?

Yes. EN deposits uniformly, so thickness adds equally to all surfaces. Specify plated dimensions on your drawing; we will calculate the pre-plate dimension. We hold ±2 µm thickness tolerance in production.
